Posting frequency is something that has been discussed A LOT. New bloggers ask about posting frequency. More seasoned bloggers debate about the optimal frequency. I would not go as far as to dictate a specific number but I do know and believe that you should post as often and as regularly as possible. But how do you increase your posting frequency? What if you find yourself flagging when it comes to posting in your blog? Let’s look at some things that can work for you.
Be systematic.
Many bloggers who have let their blogs go down the drain due to lack of posts say the same thing – they did not have a regular schedule as to when they would publish posts. My answer to this would be to create your own schedule, set your own deadlines. While you do not have to be as specific as “I need to post at 10am everyday,†it would be good to at least pinpoint the day you HAVE TO post. In this way, you will be “forced†to write and maintain your blog. After a while, it becomes a habit and there is no question of “forcing yourself†anymore.
Reward yourself.
Once you have set a schedule, try to stick to it as much as you can. And when you find yourself sticking to it, give yourself little treats. This would differ from one person to another, of course, but the idea is to let positive reinforcement work for you. Personally, I allow myself more time to play video games once all my blog “work†is done.
Be accountable to someone.
Find another person who will remind you and hold you accountable. It’s much like the buddy system used in many other endeavors. The person doesn’t even have to be a blogger but it would be good to have a “blogger buddy†who can remind you both online and offline.
