The headline or title is the most important part of a blog post. At least that is what some people say. However, as important as the headline or title of a post is, you cannot discount the other parts and one other very important part is your opening line (or lines for that matter).
How do you open your blog post? Remember, though you may have hooked readers due to your great headline, you still have to be able to keep them engaged with your opening line. That is how important it is.
One of my favorite ways to open a blog post is by asking a question. This works in many ways. For one, you get your reader thinking and involving himself immediately. This is especially true if you ask questions like “Do you find yourself wondering why your blog is not attracting enough visitors?†You find something in common with your reader and the idea is that you just might be providing the answer to their dilemma.
Another kind of question that you can ask is something that makes your readers curious. For example, you can ask “What does blogging and making money have in common?†Or perhaps you can ask “Which is the best blogging platform today?†Again, by asking these kinds of questions, you get your readers thinking and trying to find the answer to the questions by continuing to read your blog post.
Do you have other ways of opening your blog posts that you may want to share?
