The best of writers are bound to meet their waterloo in a topic that they know nothing about and do not exert any effort to learn anything about. Writing from the head can only go so far. Writing from the heart assures writers of an unlimited source of aspects to talk about in a specific topic. If you wish to have an edge to succeed in blogging, choose a topic that will not “force” you to copy other people’s words and ideas. If you don’t have the luxury of choice and are required to produce convincing articles as part of your job, then by all means, know your topic and know it well. Anything less is unacceptable. Have you ever come across an article that appears to make no sense and seem to go on and on without any clear indication of where it’s headed? Such is the feeling of a person reading the work of a writer pretending to know what he/she is talking about. Complex words and sentence structures won’t cut it. Instead of hiding flaws resulting from sheer ignorance of the subject, they tend to add to the frustration of a reader who is in real need of specific information. Blogging requires dedication and perseverance. Not all blogging endeavors will be successful and some failures will be required to learn. Every failure should bring us closer to our desired success and should not be allowed to be an end in itself. Confidence in blogging can only come from a certain acquired “mastery” of the topic. With the tall order of having to produce unique and interesting articles on a regular basis, it will be hard to accomplish without the proper disposition. Learn to appreciate the niche you are writing for and results will return ten-fold.
