The Inside AdSense group announced on their blog some important policy updates today:
now you can place up to three link units on a page. As we’ve noted in the past, link units are a great way to provide relevant, user-friendly ads in hard-to-fit locations on your site. With the new opportunity to place three link units — and the plethora of link unit formats — we hope you’ll find great ways of incorporating this unique ad format on your site.
This is a good news for bloggers. Ad link units are considered one of the best performing AdSense types. Webmasters can attest to this. One website owner says:
Out of the hundreds of channels I have, the tiny single Adunit always the top earner any day. It bring in 1/3rd of my earnings. They are neat, occupy not much space and spot on target to my subject and visitors. For me it is very productive in some of my pages where the content is not specific to a widget but a family of widgets.
Ad links are smaller compared to the traditional Google Ads.
This ad unit for instance, occupies only 120 x 90 pixels of web space. It easily fits here, on the main body of your text or at the side bar. Putting it on the upper left hand corner greatly increases the number of clicks on this ad format. The conventional wisdom says that these ads are often mistaken for a web sites menu Most web site owners, do in fact, blend it extremely well to look like part of the navigation bar.
The old AdSense policy only allowed one of these ad links per web page. With two more Ad links, the opportunities to earn AdSense income increases.
Consider putting more of Ad links on your blog today.
