We’ve all experienced this before. You sit down in front of the computer, browse the Net for ideas, then an hour or so later you realize that you have not done anything. You just can’t seem to come up with any material for your blog post for the day! What do you do?
For some the answer is easy – leave it and write another day. However, for those who have a strict schedule to follow, this is not an option. One way or another, you would have to pull something out of somewhere in order to get the job done at the specified time.
This is perhaps one of the hardest things that writers face. Some call it writer’s block, some say it’s running out of creative juices – no matter what you call it, the problem remains and it has to be solved.
I do not call myself an expert when it comes to writing but I do know that I have had my share of moments like these, when I just can’t write anything. So what do I do? One of my default solutions is to take 5 or 10 minutes off. I get up, do other mundane tasks and let my mind wander. Usually, I get an idea or two. If that does not work, I go back to my computer, look at the old posts and see if there is a point that I can use as a springboard. If this still doesn’t work, I look up my collection of inspirational quotes on writing – I gave you a taste of these in the last two posts I had.
Each and every writer has his own bag of tricks when it comes to getting ideas and inspiration to write. Do you mind sharing yours?
