Happy New Year! I hope you had a good break over the past week or so. If you still remember, my last post was on things to do when it comes to post series. Here is the continuation of the post.
What else should you bear in mind when trying to create a post series for your blog?
–Do try to come up with specific titles for each post in the series. The easiest thing to do would be to simply use the same title for all the posts, with each post having a unique number in the series. I like doing this for reference. However, it would be better to use a common phrase for all the posts and then add a unique label to each individual entry. For example, instead of “Make the Most Out of Post Series 1, 2, 3â€, and so on, I chose to use “Make the Most Out of Post Series†as the common phrase and then added tags such as “Dos†and “More Dos†to identify individual posts. Get my drift?
–Do include excellent and unique content in each post. A whole series can be interesting and useful only if you provide different material for each entry in the series. What is the point in having 5 blog posts talking about the same thing from the same angle – that means you just keep your readers going round and round. This brings back the first point I raised – make sure you choose a topic that you can write much about.
In the next post, let’s look at some Don’ts.
