There are thousands upon hundred thousands of blogs on the Internet today. How can you be sure that your blog will be noticed by readers out there? Actually, this fact can go both ways. On the one hand, from the reader’s point of view, it might be like the proverbial needle in the haystack – how do you find one blog amidst the plethora of blogs? On the other hand, from your point of view, you can take advantage by gaining an edge over other blogs and attracting people to your blog. But how do you do that? One, find your style and try to make it different from the rest. It may look easy but with the number of blogs out there, you might find it a challenge to come up with your unique style. If I were you, I would spend a bit of time thinking on this point. More so, you can experiment on different styles and see which one works best for you. Two, pay attention to your blog design. I made the mistake of sticking to a default template a long time ago. While it did not really have anything to do with my content, it still did not have enough impact to make people keep coming back. I decided to make the leap and changed the template, complete with a little tweaking – unique header (had a designer draw one) and custom colors and the like. Everyone loved it and some even discovered it because of the new look! Three, write write write. Of the hundreds of thousands of blogs out there, a large number is dead. That is, they are not updated regularly, if at all. How much would you like visiting a blog that has a post as old as your grandma? Here’s to a blog that has THE edge!
