You know how important a blog is for your business, so now it’s time to start making sure that you are blogging correctly. A great blog post ensures that people will read it, sometimes more than once, and hopefully share it and keep coming back for more.
There are a few things that go into creating a good blog post. It’s about more than just words. You want it to have meaning, to have feeling, and you want to make sure that it is giving the readers accurate information that they actually want.
Step One- Research Keywords
When it comes to global internet marketing, SEO is the key to getting yourself found. The key, being keywords, which you don’t want to just pull out of thin air. Use something like Google’s Keyword Tool in order to find words related to your business.
You want words that are being searched, but you also want to know how much competition you have when it comes to making it to the front of search pages. You also want to make sure you aren’t overdoing it with your keywords, and that the content you are writing still sounds intelligent and interesting.
Step Two- Come Up With A Title
When it comes to articles online, titles can be everything. You need to come up with something clickable so that people will want to follow the link when they see it in their social media news feed or on the search engine. Make it snappy, and make sure it tells people about what they are about to read.
Step Three- Create An Outline
It can be very helpful to start your blog post out as an outline. Once you have the basics it’s much easier to fill in the blanks, for many people anyway. You have your title and keywords, what will your categories and subcategories be? Where will you put the statistics?
Step Four- Know Your Subject
Now, don’t just fill in those blanks with nonsense. Do your research. People want to read something that is well written and factual, so include links to the places you get those facts to, and even places where they can do further study on the subject at hand, if they’d like to.
Step Five- Add An Eye Catching Photo
Last, but not least, make sure to include an eye catching photo of some kind. Your photo does a few things for your blog post.
You know a picture is worth a thousand words, so right there it expands on what you’ve already written. Plus, with social media sites like Pinterest, that picture will be the thing that makes your post that much more shareable, so don’t neglect a good photo when it comes to blogging.
