A lot of people that I know would give me blank looks if I asked them this question. The blank looks would translate into “Duh, how can you be even asking that question? It is a given!” Well, my friends, sometimes what is obvious to you may not be obvious to others. I have learned this the hard way, believe me, and I would rather state the obvious than make an a** out of you and me by making assumptions.
That being said, do you really need to network for your niche blog? Again, the answer is a resounding YES. Actually, this applies to any other blog, whether it is a niche blog or not. If you are just starting your niche blog, take a look at the stats. If you are using WordPress, this is fairly easy as you can check the number of visitors, comments, and similar stats within your account. You will certainly notice that in the beginning, you only get a few hits a day – maybe even none. This is normal.
Now, don’t do anything about your new niche blog except write posts. Maybe you’ll get lucky and get a couple of extra hits a day. But the chances are that you will still be getting less than 10 visits on the average (if that!). If you are not aiming to monetize your blog or you don’t care whether people visit it or not, then you have no issues. However, if you have started your niche blog because you want to have real people read it AND you want to monetize it some day, then you have a big problem.
You want people to KNOW that your niche blog exists. You want visitors to create a constant stream of traffic. And that, my friends, can be jump started by networking. In the next post, let’s take a look at some ways you can network to breathe life into your new niche blog.
